O'Connor's Ecker is first-team all-state baseball

O'Connor's Mark Ecker was named to the Texas Sports Writers Association's Class 5A all-state first team Friday.

Ecker, who signed with Texas A&M, batted .438 with 57 hits, seven home runs and 49 RBIs, helping O'Connor reach the state semifinals. He also had a 7-2 record on the mound with a 1.19 ERA.

O'Connor's Justin Garcia and Churchill's Jason Serchay were third-team selections.
